Part I: Your Choice - Visual or Written Response
Your job is to find a common thread between the works we've studied this year and create a visual or written expression of meaning and understanding. Some suggestions include:
Visual Response (including a min. 1-pg written statement of explanation):
Painting or Drawing
3-D sculpture
Mandala
Comic Strip
Written Response:
Standard Expository Paper
Short Story (you could weave numerous characters into one narrative)
A Series of Poems
Newspaper with Articles
These are only suggestions; please feel free to come up with your own ideas for response. Consider your own talents and interests and craft your response accordingly.
This piece be due on the day of the final and will be evaluated on insight, meaning, attention to detail, creativity, and the degree to which you include the major works from the year.
Part II: TOTC exam - multiple choice/matching/quote id
This will be completed in class and will be a scantron exam testing your close reading of the final novel of the year.
Part III: Reflection Piece
This will be completed in class and will ask you to reflect upon your growth and learning over the course of the year.
